Born over a tofu shop in Osaka, twin sisters Reiko and Kyoko have very different characters. Reiko is diligent, and longs for a secure, middle class lifestyle. The story of Amos, a reformed alcoholic on a mission to forge a relationship with his estranged son Themba. When Amos decides to restore the public swimming pool so that the young people of the town can enjoy some recreational activity, and his son can pursue a swimming career, he is met with skepticism and resistance from the town's authorities and its inhabitants. Through patience, determination and courage, Amos perseveres with his goal of creating a space where his son can nurture his love of swimming. Amos' selfless act ripples through Hopeville, inspiring others to take action and do what they know is right.

A love triangle between Lor and the two daughters of Por Pit named Phuean and Phaeng. Phuean is the selfish older sister and Phaeng is the tomboy younger sister. Lor is Por Pit's distanced nephew. He was taken in by Por Pit after his parents died. Phuean, Phaeng, and Lor were raised up together. Lor took care of Phaeng since they're little because Phaeng was very attached to him. But when they got older Lor fell for Phuean and the two got engaged. Lor loved Phuean and saw Phaeng as an annoying younger sister. He promised to love Phuean forever and if he has another woman he shall die for betraying their love. Then Lor fell ill with malaria so he was taken to the city to be treated. Phuean and Phaeng went with him. While they lived in the city Phuean had an affair with a rich man and left Phaeng to care for the sick Lor.

Lena, a strong Greek independent woman 5 years after knowing about her step brother's disappearance, travels to Africa with her rich fiancee by her side, trying to find out what really happened to her brother. Firstly she meets her brother's partner. A mysterious guy named Zatelis, also Greek, married to an even more mysterious (Masai-origin) African woman named Randa. Lena is attracted to Zatelis's dark character more and more and she decides to extend her staying in Africa to get inspired for a book she is writing. Only that, her fiancee and Randa won't just let it go..
