Fight City is a present-day story set in Cleveland, Ohio, and Brooklyn, New York. Ace is on the run from the mob boss Mr. Maloney whom he cheated at a recent poker game. This leads Ace to participate in illegal underground fights with a colorful range of personalities, so he can pay off his debt and save his best friend, Butta, who got in the crosshairs. Ace strikes yet another deal with Mr Maloney, "promising" to throw an upcoming fight in an effort to pay back his entire debt. However, rage takes over Ace and he brutally beats his opponent, contrary to the previous agreement. Our main hero now has to escape his hometown and leave behind his loved ones to escape this mess. Needing a bigger fight to restore the financial damage he is in, Ace goes to the world of Fight City. With Javier as his sage through the fighting underworld, Ace runs into an ex-fighter who is now a millionaire and wants to sponsor Ace in a huge upcoming fight tournament. This relationship proves to be life-altering, and Ace will be forced to make decisions that will impact his journey forevermore. This is a limited series of a man convicted by his choices and determined to right them. He must persevere through a dark city, possessed by forces of greed, evil, and power. The series builds on the range of issues one faces while growing up in a community segregated by financial status, class, and race. This is a story of grit and redemption - a tale of a small-town street fighter finding refuge from a terrible choice in Fight City, where he embarks on the seemingly impossible mission of righting his wrongs.
