Fire in the Night

Emily, a fifteen year old girl, is to be removed from her parental home for six weeks by youth care services. Through a few intense and intimate conversations we see how personal incapacity and failure from those involved contribute to the situation.

Korean-Chinese people come to Korea from China with 'Korean Dream' but they are not 'Koreans' but just poor 'foreigners' for South Koreans. They are floating around neither as Chinese in China nor as Korean in Korea. 'Floating Weeds' is a personal documentary about a South Korean filmmaker and Korean-Chinese people breaking down the walls of mutual distrust and building friendships day-by-day through filming.
