Set in Melbourne, Start Options Exit (SOE) follows the exploits of twenty-somethings Neville Carlisle and Yolis Jenkem; who have come to a freeing conclusion; If you forget the stupid little things like reputation, the law, friendship, the suffering of others.. Claire Weygand, a thirty-year-old young woman who is about to defend her anthropology thesis, unfortunately not only feels bad but even worse and worse with each passing day. The migraine attacks she suffers from indeed keep her from working as hard as she should and in despair she decides to consult Doctor Fish. When the medicine the physician prescribes for her fails, Claire, who can't take it any more, asks him to hospitalize her. In hospital, Claire shares her room with Odette, a young woman who has lost the use of her legs and Eléonore, a frightening old woman...

Shortly after the return to democracy in Chile, the memories of a traumatised man who unwillingly participated in human rights abuses as a soldier in the Atacama Desert are stirred up when he sees his sadistic old commanding officer in the street.

Radio announcer Petrícek (Václav Voska) reads the evening news in a studio. Viki (Jirina Jirásková), the female editor of a woman's program, is annoyed by the stereotypical information he provides as well as by the speaker's melodious voice and his heart-felt performance. Then she gets an idea for a prank. She calls the speaker from the neighboring room on the phone and pretends to be an unhappily married woman who draws all her strength to live from Petrícek's voice.
