Tomo Aizawa, a tomboy girl, confesses her love to her childhood friend Kubota Junichirou. However, he mistakes her confession as a casual assurance of friendship between boys, disgruntling her. Later, Tomo asks her best friend Misuzu Gundou for advice. Misuzu says she has rightly portrayed herself as a boy because of her lack of femininity. Sometime later, both Kubota and Misuzu forget their umbrellas, and wait for Tomo to walk them home. Later on, two girls try to approach Kousuke Misaki, the captain of the boys' karate club, after school, but they see him with Tomo. They later talk to Tomo at her classroom, saying they want to meet after school, but she mistakes this for a challenge to fight.
