Dave Pearson: To Byzantium
When artist Dave Pearson died in 2008 a group of friends and relatives opened up his studio to discover a lifetime's collection of neglected art. The decrepit building revealed over 20,000 pieces . Other spaces nearby were similarly crammed with his work . The film looks Pearson's extraordinary obsession and imagination behind a range of themes which continued during his long and fatal illness. The film is also about the epic task to rescue the studio full of work from destruction and introduce it to a new audience.
