This excellent, witty and interesting start to this series examines how the movement started and who started it. We see the places they were and went to, the society in Paris at the time, how it was ripe for a change in art, the characters and lifestyles of the protagonists.

The British/Polish Art Critic Waldemar Januszczak ventures outdoors to famous locations that were depicted in many now famous paintings. He provides a humorous side to this documentary, which makes it very interesting.
