Using materials from the wreck they make two extreme vehicles and go head-to-head in a crazy petrolhead challenge. And as time passes with no sign of rescue, they construct a luxury beach house - but in the dead of night they are woken by a mystery intruder....

Frustrated after their last failed escape attempt, tempers flare over who does all the fishing. To solve the problem, Richard builds the world's first automatic fish-catcher. Meanwhile Tory comes up with a new plan to get them rescued, using his explosives knowledge to make distress flares. Richard launches Hammondland TV, his own island tv station but his plan to cheer Tory up with a surprise 4th July Independence Day party turns into the most incredible epic fail.

S1.E5 ∙ War Games

Tory is furious with Richard for shooting off all his flares and kicks him out of their treehouse on the desert island. Richard declares war, attacks Tory with his ingenious pineapple cannon and cuts off his water supply. Tory fights back, building a ballista and bombarding Richard in his foxhole with fruit missiles. As the Escapists strive for more elaborate weapons to win victory, possession of Clarkson becomes the ultimate objective.

Richard and Tory must put aside their differences if they want to survive on the island. When Richard spots a distinct bird, he convinces Tory they must be within 100 miles of land. The duo hatch an escape plan, but must first build an outlandish aviation machine to get them away from the island and back to civilisation.
