Solidarity Collectives. One Year After Full-Scale Russian Invasion
5 a.m. You get a call from a loved one: It started. This is how most Ukrainians begin their story about February 24, 2022. This reportage documents how life has radically changed in the year since the invasion began. Activists who fought for a free and just society joined the resistance against the invaders. Many joined the army. The Solidarity Collectives organization, including anarchists, environmentalists, and vegan activists, became volunteers to support their fighters and help those affected by the war.

My nazyvali sebya troshnikami, do togo kak eto stalo modnym
During a journey to eastern Ukraine, the Solidarity Collectives met with a group of aerial reconnaissance men and women from Kharkiv who were actively involved in social activities before the war: participating in student protests and environmental movements, organizing feminist and anti-development actions, and conducting sports training sessions. In 2014, they opened a squat where they provided shelter for refugees from the occupied territories and organized educational events. This interview is about the journey they have undertaken.

Go Vegan! Interv'iu z eko-anarkhistom na fronti
The Solidarity Collectives crew interviews an eco-anarchist from the 'Ekolohichna platforma' (Ecological Platform) group, whom they met during a journey to southern Ukraine in the Kherson and Mykolaiv regions. Before the war, he was actively involved in the 'Ekolohichna platforma' initiative, preparing vegan food for those in need, and participating in anti-authoritarian demonstrations, environmental gatherings, and animal rights actions. With the outbreak of war, like many members of the 'Ekolohichna platforma', he joined the armed resistance and now serves as a combat medic. This documentary explores practices of solidarity and mutual aid within military structures, the liberation of Kherson, the warm reception of the local community, international support, and the challenges of maintaining veganism in military settings.

Second Year of the Full-Scale Invasion: Overview of Solidarity Collectives' Work
In 2022, a full-scale war erupted in Ukraine. Rocket attacks, convoys of military vehicles, burning homes, and millions of refugees-these have become daily realities. War is starkly material; it cannot be obscured by rhetoric. Instead, one must find tools for defense. Ukrainian society found them: an unprecedented wave of solidarity and mutual aid emerged in response to external aggression. This social surge united people and thwarted invaders' plans, alongside unparalleled international support. Solidarity Collectives operate on these principles. Since the war's outset, they have diligently supported anti-authoritarians on the front lines and assisted those affected by the conflict. They actively participate in crucial events, initiate new initiatives, build solidarity networks, and highlight the contributions of anti-authoritarians in the struggle against Russian imperialism to the global community.

Rozpodil zavdan' na osnovi zdibnostej ta bazhan' - tse klyuch do uspikhu
In 2023, the Solidarity Collectives visited the Kherson region, where they met Erwin, an anarchist, combat medic, and member of the cooperative group "Khlib nasushchnyi" (Daily Bread). Since that meeting, many events have transpired, and at the time of publishing this interview, Erwin is defending the Kherson region, spending days and nights in the swamps under the whizzing of bullets, artillery strikes, and drone attacks. This is a story about the journey of a Ukrainian anarchist from activism to working as a medic in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It also highlights the importance of volunteer assistance during wartime. The conversation touches on the topic of horizontality, the experience of cooperation with people in de-occupied territories, and the issue of veganism in the army. Can an anarchist be in the army, and can this lead to conflicts? The answer to these questions depends on internal principles and the ability to find common ground even in the most difficult circumstances.
