Ther Mpenba Effect where hot water freezes faster than cold has been reported for thousands of years but only addressed scientifically recently. There are five primary theories for why it happens but none are entirely convincing and the effect has yet to be conclusively proven.

Scientist have successfully incorporate a synthetic nucleotide pair into the DNS of an e-coli bacterium. To be successful the two nucleotides had to be incorporated into DNA without ill effects, zip and unzip their bonds in conjunction with the natural nucleotide pairs.

A Billion Years of Moon Impacts Illuminates Earth's History
Looking at the erosion of moon rocks from meteor ejecta scientists have performed a survey of large meteor impacts on the moon over the past billion years. Surprise, about 300 million years ago the rate of impacts suddenly doubled. The study also suggests the expected number of impacts on the Earth during the same period yet only a small number of the meteor craters have been found.
