The fine young Brittons admitted to Sandhurst Academy's prestigious 44 weeks officer training course are instructed and tested, not just for discipline and practical skills, but also the right psyche to command and handle death. That includes the courage and ethics concerned with killing as well as keeping a unit operational when it suffers fatal casualties. It's all painfully realistic during the NATO Afghanistan operation, and several otherwise fit cadets opt out.
