Brussel Sprout Blues
It's lunchtime at the school and some of the children don't want to finish their vegetables. They've left their brussel sprouts, peas and carrots behind. The upset veggies sing a song about how they make you grow healthy and strong but Brigid, Lee, Conor and Ciaran still aren't convinced.

Conor gets carried away during a game of dress up at the school and his pirate voice is too loud. When the game turns into a treasure hunt to the Pirate Cave Conor's shouting causes even more trouble - it echoes off the cave walls and wakes up baby bat Eduardo.

The children are playing their favourite musical instruments. After some practice, they're all excited to go on a musical parade to Seagull Rock - everyone except poor Roisin. She can't choose an instrument she likes, and her singing makes the other children laugh.

The children spend a rainy morning learning some new dance moves from Ruari. Once the sun comes out they decide to make their way to the Fairy Circle to practice their groovy new dancing. Here they meet Jed & Zed Hogg, identical twins and dancers extraordinaire.

The children are playing hide and seek. Before Conor can find anyone the game is interrupted by a strange noise outside. It's the call of the corncrake, a shy bird that visits the island in springtime.

Playing outside in the school's backyard, Ciaran is terrified by a little spider. Mr O'Dear comes to the rescue and scoops the spider up in a tin. The kids are impressed with his bravery, but when the class accept an invitation to Mammy O'Dear's cottage they find out that Mr O'Dear used to be afraid of moths - and still is!

The story opens with the kids playing in the school's back garden. Sean is impressing the others by flying a kite really high, the string breaks and the kite disappears into the clouds. The group decides to go the Waterfall Glenn that day where they meet Sully the Falcon who's got a problem, he's forgotten how to fly.

At the school, Roisin's juice has turned one of her teeth blue. The children talk about brushing your teeth and the young Roisin boasts that she never does. Although the other children try to explain the importance of keeping your teeth clean, Roisin just doesn't get it.

The children are excited because on their journey to school, the sea level was nearly up as high as the dock when they got off Skipper Seamus's dingy. Ruari explains that this is because there is going to be a full moon that night - the moon pulls the sea up even higher at high tide.

At school Brigid takes a joke from Ruari's puppet show too far and teases the other children. The group decide to take a long hike out to Puffin Point where they meet the irascible Puffin Patricia. She impersonates Mr O'Dear and gets a big laugh from the kids.

Lee and Ciaran are putting on a show for the others, but Conor can't seem to stop interrupting. The class decide to spend the rest of the day at Waterfall Glen, searching for the Hush A Bye birds, which Roisin says are "so cute you'll go crazy".

Playing with Mr O'Dear's old kayak is great fun for most of the kids, but Lee's too "teensy" to sit in it. The group want to take the kayak to the water, and Whale Cove is chosen as the best spot to try it out.

It's the day of the Inis Spraoi boat race. The kids have made their own boats to race in the waterbasin, but some of them won't float. They sink to the bottom, and the kids can't figure out why. Conor suggests a trip down to the dock to see if Skipper Seamus can give them the answer.

It's a warm day and Ruari's been baking so all the windows are open in the Schoolhouse. The children notice a funny smell, which seems to be coming from King Spud's Farm, and they go off to investigate. They're sure that Cecil pig must be the source of the funny smell, but he insists that pigs are very clean animals.

During a game of dress up, Ciaran finds a crown and starts acting like a King. He declares that the kids shall march over to King Spud's farm to spend the day. Ciaran is really enjoying bossing everyone around. King Spud tries his best to explain what being a King is about, but singing a tune about how it's better to be kind, but Ciaran carries on and no one's having any fun.
