Major GRU Kirill Romanov serves in hot spots. One day he receives a letter from Nikolai Efimov, a man whom he considered guilty of the death of his mother, who died in a terrible fire. In a telegram, a man who had just been released from prison promised to tell Kirill the name of the real criminal. At a meeting with the major, the former prisoner tells that not only Kirill's mother and the founder of Sexta Oil Shipov died in the fire, but also Efimov's brother. The arson was committed by one of the windmill brothers, bandits who, after the tragedy, became the founders of an oil company. Out of fear for his family, Efimov was forced to confess to a crime he did not commit. Now, left alone, he wants Kirill to punish the real killers.

Yefimov plans to record his testimony in the case of arson on a dictaphone, but an unknown person comes to his apartment and eliminates the witness. Kirill and his father want to conduct their own investigation and find out whose fault the innocent died. Through a friend of Maxim Poluyanov, Kirill gets a job as a security guard for Popov, the chairman of the board of the oil company Sexta-Oil. After the death of his colleague, the businessman is also afraid for his life, and Kirill methodically eliminates all security flaws, which deserves Popov's trust.

Captain Zhdanevsky, who is investigating the case of the attempt on Popov, asks for information on everyone who knew about the entrepreneur's secret hideout. He has only two pieces of evidence at his disposal - a peach pit and a bullet in Kirill's head. Romanov, meanwhile, comes to his senses in the hospital. He informs his father that Popov was most likely ordered by the Windmill brothers. Zhdanevsky believes that Dasha Shipova, the daughter of the founder of Sexta-Oil, is behind the assassination attempt. The captain asks for a search warrant from Poltashevich, the girl's guardian.

Dasha Shipova tells Romanov and his father that Poltashevich sent her to England immediately after the fire and kept telling her that she was in danger. And seven months ago, the girl received an anonymous message that her parents were killed by the owners of Sexta-Oil and all the evidence against the perpetrators is on a classified disk. Immediately after that, the girl returned to Russia, despite the protests of her guardian. As a result, Poltashevich got her a job in the information security department. So Dasha got access to the company's servers and began her own investigation.

The hunt begins for the bullet in Kirill's head. The Windmill brothers, having decided to get rid of Romanov, hire their nephew. But he mistakenly tracks down not Cyril, but his father, and dies with him in an accident. Captain Zhdanevsky informs Poltashevich that the FSB officers have lifted from the bottom of the river the same disk with compromising information, which Dasha Shipova is unsuccessfully trying to open. Poltashevich informs her about this and asks her to leave for London.

Kirill and Maxim go to the gym, where they expect to find the Windmills. But they do not find them alive - the brothers die at the hands of a killer. However, now Zhdanevsky has a clue - at the crime scene they find a mask thrown by the attacker, and in it - a hair. Analysis of the evidence shows that the killer is a woman.

The gypsy, whose contacts Zhdanevsky gave Kirill, comes to Sexta Oil to personally talk to Popov. According to the bracelet, Maxim recognizes him as the killer who shot at them with Romanov. Then he informs a friend that Popov started hunting for him. At this time, Zhdanevsky learns from an Interpol officer from the UK that the killer Luna Wolf committed two murders there. According to Interpol, the perpetrator is now in Russia.

Kirill takes out Lunar Wolf's contacts and sends him an SMS. The killer makes an appointment at the cargo terminal outside the Moscow Ring Road. Zhdanevsky sends snipers with him. However, despite the safety net of specialists, Kirill still falls into a trap. Now he is forced to deal with the killer alone.

Maxim and Kirill agree to stage Poluyanov's death in front of Popov when he sends him on a mission with Gypsy. Knowing that Popov is monitoring the progress of the operation via video link, the friends put on a play with the murder. Kirill finds out where the sniper's lair is, heads there, and finds tagged photos of all the businessmen. The team's plans are destroyed by Popov: he takes everyone by surprise and takes Romanov, Poluyanov and Dasha Shipova hostage.

An unexpected shooter saves Romanov and Dasha: he eliminates several guards and distracts the rest, but Poluyanov cannot be saved. Now Kirill is sure that Popov is lobbying for the oil shale law and destroying competitors. Zhdanevsky tells Popov himself about this - all the evidence is against him. The captain gives the businessman a flash drive, which shows how Popov's people kill Maxim Poluyanov in his presence. He reports that Kirill Romanov works for the FSB.
