World War 2 Jeeps - 14 Fascinating Facts You Need to Know
The ubiquitous Jeep was developed in a crash program in 1940. The prototype was designed by Karl Probst of American Bantam Car Corp. with Willys Overland Motor Company and Ford recruited to provided the necessary production capacity that reached over 600,000 vehicles. Japan and Great Britian developed there own versions of the Jeep known as the Toyata Land Cruiser and Land Rover respectively.
