Dick and Joanna's much-awaited first Christmas in Vermont ends up being not so traditional after all when a massive snowstorm strands them and everyone else at the Stratford.
Kirk has a date with Leslie. Dick decides he wants to go skiing but since he doesn't know how to ski he gets Leslie to go since she's an Olympic skiing hopeful. One thing leads to another and she winds up with a knee injury that will probably end her dreams. Kirk and all of Leslie's school friends wind up angry with Dick.
Dick, George and Kirk embark on a trip to Boston to attend a Celtics game, meanwhile Joanna and Leslie prepare for the arrival of a celebrity at the Inn.
