The crew of the sailing vessel Pequod finds itself under the mad will of the avenging Captain Ahab, whose need to slay the great whale Moby Dick has become a dangerous and impossible obsession.
Captain Ahab, played by Academy Award winner William Hurt (The Incredible Hulk, Into the Wild), goes on the hunt for the great white whale - which in an earlier encounter cost him his lower right leg. Now Ahab wants payback, taking a crew out to sea including first mate Starbuck (Academy Award nominee Ethan Hawke - Training Day, Boyhood) and second mate Stubb (Eddie Marsan - Sherlock Holmes), in search of "Moby Dick".
