Timothy takes the life of an electrician and draws up the murder as an illustration for the novel The Master and Margarita. The police officers Sanya and Max, who arrived at the scene of the crime, blame everything on the "trappers" stealing electricity. Such a banal version just infuriates Timofey, but in the evening he is visited by a new investigator from the city, Olga, who notices Timofey's motives in the crime.

Motivated by Olga's conjectures, Timofey decides to commit a crime based on Romeo and Juliet. He watches a couple of schoolchildren, but by coincidence, drug dealers become his victims. From policemen Sanya and Max, Timofey learns that Olga was assigned to investigate the capercaillie in order to send her back to the city for incompetence.

Two months pass. Timofey retired from the morgue and buried a saw, a knife and a crossbow in the garden and is degrading in front of the TV. Olga works in the police department in Garnaevsk, where, at the request of her superiors, she visits a strange citizen who turns out to be the mother of the missing Masha Lopukhova. Olga begins to put the puzzle together.
