In the 130th birthday party for Prince Ka Suo, the future King of the Snow Nation, comes a unexpected guest, Xin Jue, from the rival Fire Nation, who visits the party to request an one-on-one competition of magical powers.
To protect his beloved brother Ka Suo, Ying Kong Shi accidentally displays his hidden magical power but hurts Xin Jue. The angry Fire King decides to attack the Snow Nation, and secretly seek helps from his former love Lian Ji, Ying Kong Shi's mother. At the same time, human warriors guarding the Snow Nation discover a mysterious fire sources that' burning the Icy Curtain, the Nation's ancient fortification. To make up his mistakes, Shi volunteers to wake up the sacred Sword Godsban.

While Ying Kongshi and other tribes plan to overthrow the Fire King, Ka Suo discovers the doctor's true identity and makes a decision to wake up the sacred Sword Godsban.
Ka Suo trades his energy in exchange for the power from the Sword Godsban and rescues Ying Kongshi as well as his team just in time, but the spirits inside Godsban also backfire on him. To finalize the previous promise, the Godsban flies into Ying Kongshi's hands, and Shi defeats the Fire King and saves the Ice Nation.
The Ice King tries to recover Ka Suo's magic power, and he tells the worrisome Queen that only way to save their son is to marry the Mermaid Princess Lang Shang.
To compete for the throne, Ka Suo and Ying Kongshi grow the seeds of Sacred Crystal with their blood at the request of Ice King, who knows that only his real pure-blood son can do. Shi begins to question his parentage.
A mysterious black smoke attacks Ka Suo when he visits Li Luo in the human world. The Ice King punishes Li Luo by expelling her to the Northern Periphery, and also requests Xing Juo to investigate the incident.

Before the third round of competition, the Ice King warms Ka Suo not to lose his throne because he has been chosen as the destined king by the time he was born, or the holy priests will kill Ying Kongshi to practice the prophecy.

The Fire King threatens Ying Kongshi with his secret and asks him to get a mermaid's treasure from a pure-blood princess. Ying Kongshi tries to cheat Lang Shang of her treasure by transforming into Ka Suo, but incidentally causes Lang Shang losing her virginity to the Fire Prince. As Ka Suo announces his engagement with Li Luo, the angry Lang Shan decides to revenge.
After Shi's death, Xing Gui presets his dreams to Ka Suo, and reveals a hidden big boss, Yuan Ji, who has been controlling lives and destinies of gods and the mankind.
With the helps from Yuan Ji, Lian Ji kills the Ice Queen and runs to the holy mountain in the other universe. Ka Suo enters the dream of his ancestor, and learns about Yuan Ji's true identity and the relations between the holy mountain and his worlds.
