'Hooked' involves a drug-cop, Oskari, in Finland who has a home, a full-time girlfriend, and a very bright, but delicate, son of 16. Out of the blue, the boy's mother, Krista (now mid 30's) shows up, apparently trying to re-connect. Krista has a shady 'hippie-lifestyle' kind of past, but the statute of limitations on her sundry drug charges has expired. Oskari does not want 'their' son to know she even exists, and, naturally, is not anxious for his new gal pal to get familiar with his old love interest.

Oskari reminisces on his past with Krista, still unsure of whether he trusts her. When one of Niko's friends invites him to a party, Oskari-knowing Krista's past drug problems-worries Niko might end up in trouble.

Julius and Kode prepare a shipment as Oskari trains Krista on what information to listen for while acting as his informant.

Kode violently confronts Krista when she visits Jonttu's apartment, leaving Krista in fear for Jonttu's life. Although Oskari and Krista mend the tension between them, Krista's presence still leaves Niko asking questions about his birth mother.

Oskari is shocked to find an image of Krista dealing with the criminal Kode, so he confronts her about whether she's joined the drug dealing syndicate. When Niko discovers that his mother is still alive, it leaves him disdainful of Oskari for keeping the truth from him.

Juulia moves in with Oskari and Niko, and Krista tries to fend off Niko's attempts to spend time with her. As the narcotics team moves in on the drug dealers, Oskari pushes Krista to provide more information.

A very awkward dinner ensues when Krista joins Oskari, Juulia and Niko at the table. Naturally Niko and Krista bond, but this leaves Juulia feeling estranged and full of angst.

The narcotics division gets ready to raid Julius's huge upcoming cocaine shipment. Oskari gives Krista fair warning of the raid, so that she doesn't get entrenched in the arrests.

After Kode's murder, Oskari tries to convince his colleagues that Kode was his informant to keep their attention off of Krista.

When the narcotics squad moves in to raid Julius' place, some of his thugs pick up Krista and Niko. Juulia confronts Krista about how she's having a negative impact on Niko.
