Taggart and Coronation Street star John Michie begins his journey at the Highland Folk Museum in the Cairngorms and visits Castle Urquhart on the banks of Scotland's famous Loch Ness.
John Michie is in Fort William, continuing his journey through the history of the Scottish Highlands and talks of the complex wrangling with the monarchy in the second half of the 17th century.
John visits Braemar Castle, near the site of the raising of the standard in support of James Stuart and later arrives at Glenfinnan, where Bonnie Prince Charlie landed to regain the throne.
John's journey begins at Fort George just outside Nairn and continues up the stunning west coast to Ullapool where he finds out about the people who left the area in 1773, bound for Canada.
John starts in Bettyhill on the most northerly coast of Britain, visiting the Strathnaver Museum then heads to Criock Church, where people sheltered following the Massacre of the Rosses in 1854.
John Michie begins at Dunrobin Castle; the clan seat of the Sutherlands in the 19th century, a symbol of the wealth generated by the new economic changes sweeping the Highlands at that time.
