Jack and Nina get ready to search a abandoned building. When they hear that their is a message on the phone inside. After listening to it, they start heading toward Dallas, Texas.
Jack and Nina get let into the base by the person who saved them. Her name is Maria and it turns out she lost her spouse in a similar way to Jack. They make camp their for the night.
Jack, Nina, and Maria get ready to leave and continue their trip to Dallas. They end going through a snow storm and need to find a place to make a fire and camp till it blows over.
Jack, Nina, and Maria arrive at Dallas after 4 months of traveling through the countryside. They look around and find a place to make base for the time being.
Jack, Nina, Maria, and Jaylin have gotten their base pretty set up and protected. They head towards one of Dallas' Power Towers to activate power in part of the city. But after activating it, they run into a military officer.
Nina wakes up to Jaylin succumbing to the infection almost causing the death of her. After all that they head into the abandoned mall and meet 2 new survivors, Samantha and Martha. After splitting up, nothing happened like it should have.
Jack and Maria have a serious talk discussing where Nina came from. It turned out that she is Jack's daughter. Maria ends up telling Nina causing Jack to be forced to tell the whole story to Nina. Which leads to trust issues between them.
