The whole era of socialism was Czech and Moravian folk music in a state-pampered box, until it seemed that there was no more rigid genre. Under the surface, however, she lived her natural life, drawing on a rich tradition and responding to new stimuli. Jirí Pavlica, the primate of Hradistan for many years, is an example of this. He honored tradition, but never rejected experimentation, intersecting across styles and genres. He plays with musicians of various nationalities, styles and concepts, folklore, classical music, rock and jazz. Always with bravura and purity, which is such a rare phenomenon for the domestic official music world.
