In 1947, 48-year-old Crown Prince Frederik was proclaimed King of Denmark. The new royal couple puts a new and more open style to the door than the king's father Christian X. But soon the new king faces a difficult choice as he has to help decide whether his eldest daughter, Princess Margrethe, will ever inherit the throne. For without sons, the throne passes on to his brother, Prince Knud, and his sons. It does, however, require a change of law and what do the Danes say to that?
