Episode list

The first episode follows the childhood and adolescence of Faust Vrancic growing up in Sibenik and Sepurine through training in Bratislava, and Padova to leave the for service in Veszprem. Particular emphasis is put on the inventive activity of its connection with the mills. Faust drew inspiration from his native environment as well as from the most renowned names in the scientific literature of the time. This aspect of his activities in a particular way is explained by publicist Milivoj Zenic.

The second episode deals with the period of Faust service in Veszprem, up until going to the court of Rudolf II. in Prague, with special reference to its construction of bridges, as well as to the circumstances in which he act (Turkish wars, the spread of Protestantism, a new entry to the throne of the Emperor). The episode is filmed on location in Veszprem and Prague, drawings and scale models of bridges are accompanied by expert commentary.

The third episode covers the most intriguing period of Faust life - his stay at the court of the German Emperor and Croatian-Hungarian King Rudolf II. Special emphasis was placed on the eccentric atmosphere of the imperial court in Prague, the artists and scientists, including the Faust personal relationship with the emperor. In this context, the episode covers Faust design of clocks, objects so favorite at the imperial court, and the impact of Tycho Brache and Jacoppo della Strada on Faust decision to finally and fully dedicate himself to inventions and Science.

Towards the end of his life, Faust decided his thoughts and ideas published in a single volume - MACHINAE NOVAE. The fourth episode is devoted to the last years of his life spent in Rome and Venice as well at his masterpiece. In this context, it is especially addressed perhaps his most famous design - design of a parachute, and in a this final episode a full functional replica is made according to original plan.
