Is the USAF Retiring the F-22?
Air Force General Charles Quinton Brown Jr. reported in May 2020 that the service intends to reduce its fighter inventory to four air frames which does not include the F-22 Raptor. So speculation is its roles will be replaced by the F-35 Lightning II or less likely the F-15EX Eagle II. More likely its mission will go to the unnamed Next Generation Air Dominance NGAD fighter which is moving through development very quickly.

The Boeing B-54; Ultimate Superfortress
The Boeing B-29 Superfotress was the backbone of the Pacific bomber fleet during World War Two. So why not make even better. Enter the B-50. And then even bigger, faster and better as the B-54. With the Air Force planning for production of 30 planes per month the contract was abruptly canceled in 1949. Why? Three reasons: the new SAC commander Curtis LeMay, the colossal B-36 Peacemaker and fortunately for Boeing, the B-52 Stratofortress.
