The thirteenth prince Yin Xiang ties a friendly fighting match with the fourteenth prince Yin Ti and tells his older brother, the fourth prince Ying Zhen about the dreams of the future. Ming Wei keeps getting visits by this "ghost".
Ming Wei's design for the new building is approved by her boss, due to the 13th prince's help explaining the Qing dynasty's philosophies. Meanwhile, the 13th prince thinks he sees Ming Wei running around in his time.
Be careful what you wish for: the prince isn't coming back and Wei is feeling lonely when she gets home and regrets the harsh words she's spoken. The prince is drinking late with his brother, frustrated by not being able to touch her.
Xu Qiang Wei wakes up and figures out she's assumed to be Ming Wei, daughter of Madame Wen and decides to play the part. She figures out the relations in her family and makes friends and enemies in the palace.
An astronomical event happens in the Qing Dynasty: many falling stars and one big one. Both the prince and Ming Wei loose their memory about the teleportation and the time they spent together. Xiao Yu is found dead in the river.
Ming Wei has to choose which of the two princes to trust. She is torn and upset by the fact that everyone is scheming and no one has morals.The 13th prince protects her however and the Emperor gets involved.
The emperor's consorts come to inspect the new ladies in waiting. Royal Consort Nalan praises her niece but also Ming Wei. Consort De drops a jade hairpin and Nalan Rong Yue picks it up to frame Ming Wei, who refuses to confess.
It is the day of the Imperial Selection and Ming Wei fakes a cold. Nalan Rong Yue suspects she's faking it and that would be considered a capital offense: lying to the emperor. She asks the Imperial Physician to check Ming Wei's condition.
The herbs work to mend the relationship between Consort De and the fourth prince. Ming Wei asks more about the history of the princes and the Yin Xiang tells the story from his perspective. It is winter and the traditional hunt begins.
Ming Wei took care of the princes and fell asleep in Yin Xiang's tent. The insecurities of the Crown Prince are taken away by Zheng Chunhua's calm and composed demeanor. He commands the army and starts believing in himself again.
As the emperor once again puts the crown prince out of power, the scheming in the palace comes to new heights. Chunhua wants to warn Xiao Wei of Yin Reng's plan to launch a palace rebellion, but Ming Hui gets the info instead.
The coup in motion by the crown prince leads Ming Wei to contact the Yin Xiang, who tells her to get the fourth prince out of harm's way. The other princes pretend to restore order, but ultimately seek to destroy the other camp.
In the wake of the coup loyalties are tested among the prince brothers, consorts and ministers. Ming Hui reminds Yin Si of her value and shares her insights. Yin Xiang and Yin Zhen decide to fight for Ming Wei by letting her choose.
The Emperor calls Yin Xiang and Ming Wei back to the palace for reasons unknown to them. The result of the meeting causes more friction between Yin Zhen and Yi Xiang and Ming Wei is still not sure of her feelings towards either.
Ming Wei keeps thinking about the mystery figure in her memories, which blinds her to whom she really loves and so Yin Xiang wants tell his father to break off the marriage. Yin Ti seeks a substitute for his unrequited love in Ming Hui.
Ming Wei finally remembers who the man in her dreams and visions is. The Crown Prince and Zheng Chunhua take too many risks seeing each other, as Chunhua is his father's concubine. Ming Hui finds out about their relationship.
The Crown Prince is tightly monitored, but Ming Wei warns her friend Zheng Chunhua to not see him until things die down. Ming Hui suspects her sister's involvement and arranges for the crown prince and Imperial Concubine Zheng to meet.
Another plot is crafted by the princes to bring down Yin Zheng by harming Yin Xiang. Ming Hui plots with them, but Yin Ti is not willing to share his brain with her. While in prison at the court, an assassin comes for Yin Xiang.
Ming Wei has taken the fall for her husband and is sentenced to death. Yin Xiang questions his father's dignity, morals and honor, to no avail. The scheming princes celebrate their victory, but Yin Ti helps Yin Xiang to rescue his wife.
Ming Wei gets cremated, but the fourth prince has different plans and rescues her. While in coma she is back in 300 years in the future and sees how it evolved. Xiao Qiu breaks up with her boyfriend and meets a new man.
The plotting continues and the group supporting the 8th prince wants to provide the final blow. Ming Hui successfully predicts events, but Yin Ti still does not respect or cares about her, She invokes their past experience to seduce him.
Ming Wei escapes the residence and Yin Zheng accepts defeat for the second time. But in the palace not everything is easy. Qi Xiang can no longer keep silent to Yin Xiang. When Xiao Wei's fake death is exposed, it is a capital offense.
Ming Hui tries to rescue Yin Ti who was ambushed by outlaws, but instead he has to rescue her, gets hurt too bad and she has drags him to safety. She wastes no time to lay her claim with Consort De, Yin Ti's mother.
Yin Zheng's child Hong Li is at the fair, when a wooden poll with decorations threatens to fall on him. Ming Wei shields him and gets hit on the head. She will be all right, but as Yin Xiang carries her away, Ming Hui and Yin Ti see them.
Yin Xiang asks his father for time to expose how Xiao Wei is being used in the power struggle for the throne. His arguments give him two weeks and Yin Zhen and Yin Xiang start the counter attack, but it requires Yin Ti not to get involved.
With the crown prince deposed at his own request, the Emperor is getting weary and troubled by the complexity of choosing another crown prince. Ming Wei appears for the Emperor to be sentenced for a second time.
Yin Chen continues his crusade to get the loans paid out by the Ministry of Revenue repaid, so that the army can be restocked properly and on time. Yin Si and many in his wake have taken loans and smuggled the money out through the opera.
The investigation into the missing funds result in the Eldest Beile committing suicide as his voice is no longer good enough to sing. This puts the Yin Zheng in a difficult position. Qi Xiang's brother Zhao Fengchu is nowhere to be found.
At the memorial day for Zhao Fengchu, Ming Hui offends the sister of the deceased and Yu Ning / Ming Wei slaps her. Now that the funds are available, the emperor has to go to war and he wants Yin Xiang to lead the attack force.
The arrow that hurt Yin Xiang's leg was poisoned. It is commonly used to kill animals in the case of a calamity and is curable, but he will loose the use of his knee. Yu Ling suspects Ming Hui and a furious Yin Zheng looks for her.
Yin Xiang's knee injury is recovering much faster than his brothers expected. There are still funds missing due to corruption of government officials, but when the emperor asks, no one in the court is willing to root out the problem.
Ming Hui plays on Madam Nian's insecurities to instigate yet another attack on Yu Lin. Surprisingly, Nalan Rong Yue informs Yu Lin. Lin Si's camp is curious about Ming Hui's long term plans, but she's not about to reveal it to them.
Ming Hui now plays on Royal Consort Nalan's fears of being inferior to Consort De and points the finger at Yu Ning. Yu Ning goes back to her hometown as Ming Wei, to investigate what events happened between her and her sister.
The emperor has passed away and Hala Yu Ning realizes she can no longer be an observer of this power struggle. The Imperial Edict is given to Consort De to be read to the public, however, before she does she has a surprising condition.
Yin Ti arrives back at the palace but is stopped by the fourth prince. It is clear Consort De does not believe Yin Zhen and she insists 13th consort Hala Yu Ning must be killed. She makes it sound like it is the late Emperor's wish.
Yin Zhen asks his mother one last time if she believes him. Ming Hui plays all the consorts against each other to strengthen Yin Ti's position and get rid of Ming Wei. Yin Zhen's consorts come to her aid and help her find the evidence.
Hala Yu Ning is captured by a hooded man in dark clothes. When she wakes up, Yin Ti walks in. Yin Si and his people attack the palace and drive Yin Xiang and Yin Zhen into the throne room. Yin Ti and his generals walk up to the scene.
Ming Wei talks to her vindictive sister to understand her better, but Ming Hui doesn't want her sister's pity. The new emperor tasks Yin Ti with carrying out Ming Hui's - his wife's - sentence, but gives him the right to not carry it out.
