Rob describes the formation of Australia to explain the unusual fossils found at Coober Pedy. The town is known for its opal mine. And although the area is now a desert it was once the site of an inland sea teaming with life. So large number of aquatic fossils are also found there. Some of the fossils are opalized.

The mysterious isochronous curve
An isochronous curve is the path a spot on a wheel travels as the wheel rolls along a surface. It has the unusual property that a ball released any where on the curve takes the same amount of time to reach the bottom. And the curve provides the fast path to the bottom.
