It was an ordinary day like any other at the Institut National de Santé Mentale. But that evening, Anne didn't join Henri at the restaurant. Worried, he contacted the authorities. His worst nightmare becomes reality when her file is entrusted to Inspector Simone Vallier: his wife has indeed disappeared.

Anne's disappearance remains a total mystery. Henri and the children spend an anxious night. Henri visits Anne's office with Simone, where a major surprise awaits. The search is intensified; it is now obvious that she is in danger.

Suspicion falls on the brother of one of Henri's former patients, who had threatened him. Marine and William are finding it increasingly hard to cope with their mother's disappearance. Simone and Danno step up their efforts in an investigation they'd expected to be simple, but so far they're getting nowhere.

Despite his grief Henri manages to keep going. Firstly with his son William, who's starting to worry him, and with his patients who need him. But Henri is still wary about revealing the identity of his patients, notably those he has doubts about, claiming a duty of professional secrecy.

-Parenthood catches up with Henri in the middle of the night, when he receives a worrying call from Alice, who has lost track of Marine. Still very vulnerable, Marine has taken refuge with her new friend Tristan. An article in the media reports that the investigation into Anne Beaulieu's murder is going round in circles. Stung to the core, Simone and Danno redouble their efforts and refine their strategy to nail Mark Cohen, who has become their prime suspect. With Louise's help, Henri draws up a list of potential suspects. Could Jules Côté, a former patient who recently left the Institute, be the perpetrator?

Simone and Danno interview a member of the consultative committee, someone Anne had worked with as part of her awareness campaign. For the first time, Anne is described as being a woman with problems. The revelation upsets Henri. Perhaps his marriage wasn't as perfect as he thought?

Henri spends a somewhat stormy day with his patients. An unexpected development in the investigation changes everyone's thinking. Henri's certainties begin to fall like dominoes: Anne wasn't telling him everything. Simone continues to try to support him, despite seeing her own personal life crumble around her.

Henri tries to help his patient Karim who has lost control over the voices in his head, and meets one of Anne's former patients, Nina. Julia, Anne's sister, calls Simone with a secret about her sister. Will this new piece of the puzzle enable Simone to wrap up her investigation?

Simone now has the crucial information she needs concerning Anne's personal life. But she'll need Henri's help to corroborate the new lead, and it's going to break his heart. Still obsessed by Marine, Jules gradually becomes closer to her. The teenager is in danger.

Undermined by everything he's learnt and no closer to knowing who killed his wife, Henri is exhausted and has no-one to turn to. He thought he could rely on Simone, but she's no longer returning his calls. Tense and apprehensive, the family hope to finally discover the truth.
