Ye Chong was a Chinese who was adopted by a senior staff of the Japanese Army during the war period of China. He joined the CPC and became a spy later on. He was coded Cicada of Autumn and then sent to Hong Kong to meet with a comrade whose code was Osprey. But the latter and Ye's mentor got killed and the intelligence station of CPC in HK was destroyed by the Japanese. Later In the club, A CPC spy called He Gang was recognized and was later shot dead. Therefore Chi Cheng who was a patriot businessman and also a member of CPC had to take over He's work.

Miyamoto pretended himself to be Osprey and had a meet with the fake Cicada of Autumn. Ye informed the latter and met with him while the Japanese was in pursuit. The fake Cicada forced Ye to kill him so he wouldn't be suspected. But after all Miyamoto still believed that Ye was a Chinese spy. He spread the fake news about Ye to cause the anger of local people and also made the local gang to regard him as an enemy so that Ye would distracted and then expose himself. Later on, Miyamoto and his superior Sato decided to use a ceremony as the cover to testify Ye's loyalty.

In the ceremony, KMT and the local gang Xinghe both tried to assassinate Ye. But suddenly the latter was shot by a female student He Ying who was He Yong's little sister. Ying was later caught by the Japanese and interrogated by Miyamoto and Ye was ambushed by Lan Bao who was a member of Xinghe and also Miyamoto's partner of assassinating Ye. Ye was saved by a stranger and later decided to take Ying back home and treated her wounds. The assassination caused a lot of troubles for Sato and he needed Ye's stepfather's help so he had to stop investigating him. At the meantime, Lan showed up and convinced Miyamoto to work with him and cover the truth.
