China's Type 99: The Beast from the East
The Norinco Type 99 Tank was a part of China's effort to rapidly modernize to match third generation western tanks. What China produced was more of an upgraded generation two tank that was deficient in almost all respects to generation three tanks. But in 2013 China began producing the enhanced Type 99A (also known as the Type 99A2) that corrected many of the deficiencies.
