Olga is a middle-aged librarian who lives with her loving husband and young son in Budapest, sometimes visiting her elderly mother living in Germany. One day, the state police show up and suspect her of espionage, and she learns that her friend she met there is a German spy who is very curious about her husband's work. In exchange for impunity, they offer her to work for them, thus capturing the German secret service. Olga agrees to a double game full of dangers.

The head of counterintelligence returns after a long illness and only then learns that Olga's husband passed away five months ago, but the woman is still loyal for them. Meanwhile, many new agents join the network, one of them is captured by local police, but Olga escapes. Karl, her friend from Germany makes her to visit him, since he wants to make sure that their organization is not in danger, Olga didn't betray them in exchange for her freedom.

Their undercover agents are arrested by the police one after another, but somehow Olga always escapes. Karl sends his closest collaborator to Hungary to take her place for a bit, but he also gets arrested. Hungarian counterintelligence officers finally feel themselves in a winning position.
