S4.E1 ∙ Muy, muy lejano

The adaptation of a french novel from 1864 describes the idyllic life of a convinced bachelor, Fritz Kobus, in a village in Alsace. With help by the local rabbi, he does get married to young Suzel in the end.

Jessie Fischer, a single mother has lost her job and committed shoplifting has been sentenced to social work in a retirement home.There she meets Walter Voss called "The General" who is very bad tempered,he doesn't want to eat, throws the plate and the food through the window ,etc .But Jessie is as stubborn as Walter and little by little Jessie knows why Walter is in that retirement home and they become good friends.

Jacques and Gisèle, who are just married, are starting their honeymoon. But at nightfall, on their way to marital bliss, their car chooses to break down and the lovebirds find themselves stranded in the village of Montigny. And instead of bathing in ecstasy as expected, Jacques and Gisèle become unwillingly entangled in the conflict that tears the villagers apart : should they continue to tolerate the presence of an American Army unit on municipal territory ?

Charcoal has been unable to emerge from the shadow of being abandoned by his girlfriend and lives in a state of melancholy all day long. One day, he met the cheerful and optimistic Ron. Her happiness and simplicity gradually infected him. Over time, the two of them came together and formed a family. Ron had always hoped to have her own child, but Charcoal felt a sense of retreat when he thought about the burden and responsibility that came with the child. Finally, Ron was still pregnant. Although there were some disagreements in his heart, Charcoal still did his best to take care of her. At this critical moment, Charcoal's ex girlfriend returned from France to meet Charcoal, and on that day, Ron's child died in the womb. Charcoal embraced his heartbroken wife with his tenderness, knowing that Ron had welcomed the second child. However, faced with her husband's meticulous care for the fetus, Ron became suspicious.
