Summary When 16-year-old music student James Morrison met legendary jazz man Don Burrows in 1978, it was one of the biggest turning points in his life. After hearing James play, Don immediately took the young trumpeter under his wing, becoming his mentor and even inviting him to join the Burrows band. It was the beginning of a touching and enduring friendship, on stage and off. James Morrison went on to become Australia's most prominent jazz musician, and has never forgotten all that Don did for him.
