A conservative Oklahoma family is shattered when their gay teenage son commits suicide after a bitterly controversial town meeting discussing a proposal for Gay and Lesbian History Month. In their search to unravel the mystery behind his death, they discover a tragic secret, and begin to question their own civic responsibility as they undergo a harrowing transformation from private citizens to public defenders of their son's legacy.

Five years ago, a Korean opera singer started a children's choir in a slum in India. Frustrated by the lack of support from the parents of his choir children, he decides to train the parents to sing for a joint concert. But it may be the toughest challenge of his life.

Through the hubbub of a revolution, "It was better tomorrow" follows Aida, a Tunisian woman who has to rebuild her entire life and who does not wish to look backwards. She spends her time moving from one poor neighborhood to another. Driven by the will to find a roof over her head and for her children, she takes no notice of the historical events taking place around her. Her only goal is to find a way out and she is convinced that the revolution is a blessing. "It was better tomorrow" shows the atypical journey of this brazen and bold woman in the intense interval of a country's revolution.

This documentary takes viewers inside one of the worlds most restricted environments - an afghan women's' prison. Through the prisoners own stories we explore how moral crimes are used to control women in Afghanistan.
