"American Idol" - Top 12 Results Show - March 17, 2010
The Irish lighting director does a quick greening of the stage.
Simon calls Ryan on his aggressive behavior last night. He asks if Ryan wants his job since it seemed like an audition. Ryan says he likes his job. Simon says it was uncomfortable. They shake hands.
Simon explains the "judges' save": they can save any contestant up until the top 5, but it has to be unanimous.
Performance: "Jumpin' Jack Flash," David Cook. This kind of energy would've been nice last night. In chatting with Ryan he's really excited about his new record. He will also be going on a trip to Africa with the U.N. for "Idol Gives Back."
Ford Commercial: The kids are playing paint ball as they ride around in Fords singing "Tick Tick Boom." They're all covered in green paint at the end. Casey missed the shoot because he had the flu. We get yet another Ford commercial as the contestants create their own graphics for a car.
Results: In the first round we learn Lee, Siobhan, Aaron, and Andrew are safe and Paige and Tim are in the bottom three.
Performance: "According to You," Orianthi, the late Michael Jackson's guitar player, who is now working a solo career.
Results: In the second round good news goes to Didi, Crystal, Katie, Michael, and Casey are safe so Lacey rounds out the bottom three.
Ellen says she doesn't know if any of these three are worth using the save on. Simon says one is worth it. Tim is sent back to safety. He looks stunned and hugs Paige.
Performance: "Blah, Blah, Blah," Ke$ha featuring 3OH!3. She has dancing TV sets, Auto-Tune, and silver eye make-up.
