Live Results Show: One Contestant Eliminated

Summary "American Idol" - Final Four Results Show - May 6, 2009

Ford Commercial: "Move Along." The Idols are on billboards and magazine covers and come to life in one dimensional form and get in a Ford and drive away.

Group Sing: "School's Out," Alice Cooper. The kids are in over their heads and are drowned out by Slash and his merry band of turn it up to 11-heads. Even Adam and Allison who get a nice moment going can't be heard over Slash's guitar riffing. In Kris and Danny's case this is probably a good thing.

Slash was impressed by the kids last night. Slash is working on his new record which will have a different famous, great singer on every track.

With time to kill they talk about last night: Kris is humble, Adam had fun with Zep and his outfit, Danny laughed at his crazy last note, Allison was ready to talk back.

Video Package: Paula Abdul career recap in preparation for her first ever performance on "Idol."

Performance: "Im Just Here for the Music," Paula Abdul. Wow, it takes some sweet nerve to lip synch on this show as a judge, right? She's still very limber if understandably a little slower moving. Oh look, now she has two microphones she's not using. It's a forgettable, throwback, Prince-ly dance jam with Paula being bounced around by a bunch of male dancers. In Paula fashion, I'm happy to sincerely say she looks amazing.

After the break Ryan asks why now? Paula says it's the most undeniable happy place to be, onstage.

Performance: "Just a Girl," No Doubt. Speaking of throwbacks. In an effort to promote their upcoming summer tour the ska-popsters return. She looks great and does a little call and response with the audience.

Ryan tells us there were 64 million votes cast.

Video Package: We get a look at previous visits home, which is what the top 3 get.

Results: Kris is safe.

Video Package: We get a recap of Chris Daughtry's career from "Idol" to the present.

Performance: "No Surprise," Daughtry. The first single from their forthcoming sophomore album it's a strong song which will be a strong song throughout the year, It could even be a #1 hit on Billboard Top 200. Simon, Kara, Paula and Randy gave him a standing ovation.

Ryan has Kris present him with a plaque signifying that the band's first album has gone quintuple platinum. (5 million in sales).

Bottom Two: Allison and Danny.

Going Home: Allison. All the judges stand for her and cheer. She sings "Cry, Baby" again, she goes down to the judges and the crowd.
