Summary
"American Idol" - Results Show - March 26, 2009
We get a recap of last night.
In the Audience:
Group Sing: The ladies start with "You Keep Me Hangin' On." Scott and Matt join Allison and Lil for "You're All I Need to Get To By" and then they all join in. But really none of them are singing, so again it doesn't matter. I HATE that they're lip-synching this year.
Ford Commercial: "Pocketful of Sunshine," Natasha Bedingfield. The kids roll up in a white room in two Fords and unpack panels for a mural. Once they've finished laying it on the floor it shows a field with flowers under a blue sky and sunshine and they drive off into it.
Performance: Ruben Studdard, "Together." Apparently, this is his new single. Sadly there isn't a single hook to be found. He sounds fine but it's boilerplate hand-clap r&b with no melody.
Results: Adam, Kris, and Lil are safe. Matt and Michael are in the bottom three
Performance: Smokey Robinson and Joss Stone, "You're the One For Me." Joss starts off this slow jam and then Smokey comes in. It's more than a little creepy that this 20-something woman is singing about being thrilled by this 70-something man. Overall it's meh.
Results:Allison, Anoop, Danny, and Megan are safe and Scott is in the bottom three.
But no sooner is Scott in the bottom three then he's sent back to safety.
Ryan asks Simon about the judges' save, Simon re-explains about how it works.
Performance: Stevie Wonder, "Motown Medley" - "My Cherie Amour," "Superstition," "Overjoyed," "All About the Love"
