Summary A horrific incident confuses two plumbers who meet a man with a knife in his heart as he exits the basement of the house. Murdered jailbird thieves Kostya Kusok and Lesha Bulkin are old friends, and Volkov realizes that someone else was involved in their deaths. Through his informer, Tarabrin discovers that Kostya had a gambling debt to a famous crime lord, Nodar. However, neither the meeting with the widow of Kostya, Angela nor the meeting with Nodar's brother Niko, clarify the case.
