Nastya Zhukova is a journalist who has been conducting her own investigation for a long time, trying to expose the merciless and dishonest ex-husband Sergei. But as soon as she learns that in addition to fraud in business, he is guilty of another crime - the death of an elderly man who was hit on the road, Nastya herself is trapped - She publicly promises Ostrenko to prove his guilt at all costs, but at the same time she herself is arrested on trumped-up charges. The court quickly passes a sentence on the journalist: two years in prison, suspended for a month. During this time, she will have to find out who and how she was framed, collect evidence of her ex-husband's crimes, and most importantly-decide who will take care of her daughter, a schoolgirl Vika. Nastya cannot allow Vika to be taken away by her criminal father Ostrenko, so she decides to get married fictitiously.
