Summary Farmer Sepp Brenner is sued by powerful enemies, the investors in his village's gas pipes for the new recreation park, which he systematically cuts where they cross his fields, and the project-committed mayor, Sepp's long-estranged brother Karl. Bereft of his flu-affected driver Frieda Mirko, judge Max Althammer drives her old-timer car to the town hall court room, but it breaks down and he hears first-hand about the case from the friendly farmer who helps him out with his tractor, although dressed up for the trial, not other then Sepp Brenner. Judge Althammer must now consider to disqualify himself as he was informed by a party in advance, albeit it inadvertently.
