Summary In order to ensure the continued existence of the silver fir trees, which are threatened by deforestation, ranger Jonas hired the two cone pickers Florian and Laura. For the young couple it should be the last job before emigrating to Canada. When Laura suddenly can no longer hold herself at a dizzying height, only the safety rope slows her down from a fatal fall. Gradually, Laura loses control of her arms and legs.
