Italian cinema version of the first part of Victor Hugo's classic novel "Les Miserables".

When airline pilot, David Race, has to leave home on a long haul flight he contacts a house sitting agency who send along one of their new recruits, Mary Haig. Malevolence examines the nature and symptoms of guilt, following what should have been the perfect crime. Perfect but for one inherent weakness; Mary Hagues inability to cope with the enormity of the project.

To defend an innocent man accused of murder, a lawyer has to turn detective and find the real criminal.

An unscrupulous businessman frames a rival for murder, then is himself found murdered in a locked room.

At a reception given at the Rogers mansion in his honor, Somerset Carroll surprises the guests by averring that he would give aid to a female convict reported to have escaped. Later, alone in the library, he is appealed to by a young girl who confesses to being pursued by the police, and he takes her to his own house. There she reveals herself to be Helen Rogers, playing a game with him on the advice of her guests. He then declares himself a crook, holding the real Carroll prisoner, with the intention of robbing the Rogers mansion. She follows and shields "The Magnet" from the police, the real Carroll having escaped and notified them, and through her interference he eludes his would-be captors.

Sub-inspector Ashish Cholkar (Prashant Narayanan) is forced into corruption in order to support his family. With the support of his senior officer DCP Salunke (Rajendra Gupta), Ashish forms a nexus with underworld figure Shoheb Hasan (Rajesh Shringapore) who works for the ruling party in the state. And Ashish begins killing off party members of Shoheb's political rival - Raneji (Sameer Dharamadhikari). But an anti-corruption agitation headed by social activist Anna Sathe (Manmauji) topples the Govt. and Raneji's party assumes power in the state. Raneji now forces Ashish to finish off his own friend Shoheb's gang instead. Caught between his conscience and his need to survive, Ashish finds himself trapped inside a vortex of corruption from which there's no return...
