Summary In September 2008, Norman "Pooh" Griffith, an 18-year-old Pahokee High School football star, was fatally shot at a homecoming dance in Palm Beach County, Belle Glade, Florida, while he was with his best friend Dejay. Norman Griffith was airlifted to the hospital, where he died of his injuries. In the end, Carl Lee Booth Jr., age 17, was arrested in October. He later helped authorities in arresting Willie Felton, age 16, whose firing allegedly killed Pooh. All criminal charged were dropped against Felton, because authorities were unable to provide enough evidence against him. Carl Booth Jr., however, was convicted of 1st degree murder charges and was sentenced to life sentence without the possibility of parole. His sentence was later reduced to 25 years when the Federal government reduced sentences for minors who were sentenced to life in prison.
