Summary Witse gets a message that a woman wants to talk to him on her deathbed. It's Alice. Witse arrested her husband some time ago for murder on a prostitute. Alice was the one who brought down his alibi. Now she tells Witse that she lied and that her husband had been at home at the time of the murder. She asks Witse to take a letter to her husband. After that she will officially confess to everything. When Witse comes back to the hospital, Alice has died.
