Summary [season 2, episode 6]: "Kalde hjerter." (original book title: "Kalde hjerter") Varg Veum works on a case about drug trafficking in a prison. That has a direct link to his search for a missing sister and her hidden and also missing brother, since he was one of the involved parties in the drug trafficking until he escaped prison. Varg Veum and Hamre discover cats hung around the city. Hamre tells Varg that there has been more reports from old ladies who lost their cats. The dead cats eerily mimic victims of the Norwegian tradition "hitting the cat out of the barrel", where a barrel is hit until the bottom falls out. However, in this unsettling twist it seems as if the cats have been removed from their barrels and then hung up around town. Varg Veum becomes a father. It lasts 87 minutes.
