Summary Teenage addict Debbie Sharpe suffers a fatal overdose and Sergeant Giffin resolves to bring in Terry Reynolds, the man who supplied the drugs,despite not having authorization from his superiors.A quantity of heroin is found at Reynolds' home after a raid but there is frustration when his solicitor manages to get him bailed. Meanwhile Dean goes to the aid of a blind man who is being harassed by a group of youths and manages to catch one of them in the act. Mike and Natalie are called to deal with a shoplifter who has stolen a Spice Girls doll as a present for his daughter.When the man becomes emotional, Mike drives him to his daughter's home and explains to his estranged wife what has happened. She agrees to let him come in and see his daughter but as Mike accompanies him the little girl realizes that her father has done something wrong. Upon leaving the house the man asks Mike if he is married. Mike tells him that he has just split up but that there are no children involved. The man informs him that he is lucky.
