A lonely school teacher is kidnapped by the mob to carry out an important hit.

In a New York Police interrogation room, two detectives are trying to get answers from eight people living in the same building in the heart of Little Italy. Each tenant seems to have the means, motive, and opportunity to be involved in the recent disappearance of their Landlord. Drawn from true-life events, MOSAIC explores the many problems that infect our society and that invade the serenity of our daily lives made anemic by a lack of moral principles and ethics.

Julian Randolph, a dishonest attorney whose specialty is furnishing phony jurors, is offered a judgeship if he clears Clifford Nordhoff, the brother of powerful politician "Boss" Nordhoff, of a murder charge. With the aid of his usual tools, Randolph succeeds and is given a position on the bench. Here he is expected to obey the commands of the men who secured his appointment, but Ranoldph falls in love with Laura Nelson, a girl of upstanding social position, and resolves to follow the straight path. He breaks off with Roxana Frisbee, an adventuress who had assisted him in his shady schemes, and refuses to hand down a decision in favor of the political machine. In the end, Randolph upholds justice, wins Laura as his wife, and has the gratification of seeing Roxana also go straight.

Sara Philips is pressured into smuggling 2 kg heroin into Norway. She meets up with the narcotics agent Ted Hansen and lets him use her in a scheme to catch the powerful people in the drug cartel. While hiding in Ted's safe house, Ted himself tries to catch the badguys. Fatigued and frustrated with an inefficient police department, untouchable criminals and Sara's sexual provocations, he's on the verge on giving up. However, suddenly Ted gets a clue. A clue leading him to Karachi.

Varg tries to help a scared girl lost in the woods at night, but he fails to prevent her death. What was this young asylum seeker fleeing from? Was it an accident, or was she killed as a warning to other girls in the same circles? Together, Varg and Karin discover that the dead girl was deeply involved in operations in which young women were forcibly introduced in the country and at the asylum reception centres are cynically exploited. Important people at high government levels pressure the police department to hinder further investigation. What are they trying to hide? Time works against Varg, who must prove the identity of important people behind the ring before more young girls lose their lives.
