Summary Marin County, California, August 3, 2000: The double murder of James "Jim" Gamble, age 54, and his partner Jennifer "Jenny" Villarin, age 45, shocks Northern California's bucolic Marin County. Law enforcement detectives chase an elusive killer through three counties and multiple crime scenes to unravel a twisted tale of terror. In the end, detectives connect five murders to this crime, including Jennifer Villarin's daughter, Selena Grace Bishop, age 22, whose father is the blues/rock musician Elvin Bishop. That same August morning, law enforcement authorities also learned of a missing elderly couple. The daughter of Ivan Stineman, age 85, and Annette Stineman, age 88, had not communicated with her parents in several days and had discovered that many things were amiss when she visited her parents' home. In the end, the five murders were tied to a cult. Arrested and convicted of the murders were Glenn Taylor Helzer, a 30-year-old former Morgan Stanley Dean Witter stockbroker and self-proclaimed prophet, and his two housemates and cult followers, his younger brother, Justin Helzer, age 28, and Justin's girlfriend, Dawn Godman, age 26.
