Summary Pre-teen Paul reports his dog Floppy poisoned, presumably by neighbor Mechthild Harms. She annoyed everyone and recently had another row with main adversary Dörte Overbek, whose corpse was found by single, adult in-living son Hans Peter Overbek, also poisoned. Mechthild claims Dörte Overbek organized all hostility against her. Hans Peter enjoyed 'hotel mother', but she also systematically sabotaged his love life, albeit he recently brought an also domineering girl find home, and may have found out she actually faked numerous allergies to appear needy. Only when the rare poison is identified, both cases connect.
