Summary Famous, handsome, nationally popular animal rights activist Wolf Jessen, is torn to pieces by the wolves in Wismar zoo, which just hired the zoologist as chief animal minder. Director Corinna Nolte acts surprised, stating Jessen already had a key to get acquainted with the wild stock. Forensics finds he was only attacked because of a maddening overdose of lupine pheromones, administered in his hotel. Teen apprentice Nina Konken, whom he brought along from his previous Hamburg zoo, is shattered by her mentor's death, unlike senior minder Hartmut Tengler, who feels past-over and rightly suspects favoritism by the director, which she fails to keep hidden.
